The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s only all animal rescue service, is seeking to recruit a Marketing and Digital Engagement Manager.  This role is hybrid/remote working with regular travel to Scottish SPCA HQ in Dunfermline

 

As a senior member of the marketing and commercial development team, you will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of the Society’s marketing activity, ensuring our brand is consistently applied and promoted across all of our campaigns and activity.  As the lead on digital engagement, you will ensure a first-class user experience on our website, and make sure it is optimised to help us achieve our strategic ambitions. You will oversee our social media and digital engagement activity, driving growth and engagement across all of our channels.

 

People Management, Leadership and Collaboration
 Model the Society’s values (Commitment, Compassionate, Collaborative, Adaptable, Professional and Expert) at all times
 Manage and motivate your team, holding regular one-to-one meetings, providing a safe space for constructive discussions and the opportunity to let creativity prosper
 Work closely with colleagues in a variety of teams to ensure the Scottish SPCA brand is communicated consistently and effectively in all marketing activity
 Work closely with other managers in the marketing, communications and fundraising teams to provide guidance and support on marketing activity and maximise ROI on investment
 Liaise with colleagues in the wider marketing and communications team to ensure brand and marketing activity is aligned to output on digital and media
 Ensure policies and processes are created and maintained for smooth ways-of-working with colleagues
 Check key marketing and communications channels as part of the management team’s on-call rota


Brand
 Advise on and support your team to find new and creative ways to bring our brand to life, and develop creative concepts for campaigns
 Oversee use of our brand guidelines and tone-of-voice guidelines to ensure they are embedded and adhered to by all colleagues
 Provide colleagues with key messages and core assets to enable them to brand build and ensure all collateral is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to stay on-brand
 Working with the Head of Marketing and Commercial Development, undertake regular brand tracking activity to measure brand awareness and sentiment and make data led plans for improvement


Digital Engagement and Social Media
 Work with an external agency to maximise the ROI of our Google Grants activity
 Lead on the development and delivery of the Scottish SPCA’s e-mail marketing activities
 Develop and oversee a new social media strategy with the support of the Head of Marketing & Commercial Development and other key internal stakeholders
 Oversee all social media output across the Scottish SPCA’s channels, ensuring the approach is consistent, on-brand and content is tailored for specific channels and audiences
 Stay on top of best-practice and emerging trends across all digital engagement channels, continually improving our output in line with this
 Identify and develop new ways and platforms to build digital engagement, such as apps and new social media channels


Website
 Responsible for development and maintenance on both technical and content aspects of the website, ensuring it is user-friendly
 Effectively line manage the Lead Web Developer, working collaboratively with them to improve existing and implement new functionality
 Ensure all content on the website is consistent, in line with our brand guidelines and tone-of-voice and maximising the benefits of SEO


Marketing and Campaigns
 Working closely with key cross departmental colleagues, develop and deliver robust annual marketing plans with clearly defined key performance indicators to measure success
 Lead on the development of multi-channel marketing campaigns and activity
 Work with marcomms leadership colleagues to provide strategic counsel to colleagues on delivery of all promotional activity
 Advise and inform on the use of any marketing channels, such as OOH and television
 Work with marcomms management colleagues on the implementation of a content strategy which is applied across all paid, owned and earned media
 Oversee the production of all content including copywriting and design for marketing assets
 Stay on top of best practice in the marketing sector and apply findings to daily work


Other duties
 Provide regular, accurate reporting on brand and marketing activity to the Head and Director of the team
 Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and other partners as required
 Capitalise on opportunities for volunteers to support our marketing and digital activity
 Monitor and evaluate all activity, contributing to the monthly team report for departmental and senior leadership
 Contribute to the Scottish SPCA’s GDPR Forum, ensuring our use of data on digital and marketing channels is always compliant

 

Experience

You should have demonstrable experience in a marketing role; successfully ultilising a range of digital engagement channels; effective planning and evaluation of integrated campaigns; managing a brand management; relevant people management experience; experience in developing marketing collateral across a range of channels; experience of managing a relationship with external agencies/suppliers; sgnificant experience of writing copy for digital channels with consideration of SEO; managing a websi; experience in working with or managing Google Grants and other paid forms

 

The hours of work are 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am-5pm.
