The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s only all animal emergency service, is currently recruiting Weekend Animal Rescue Officers to be based in the Lanarkshire regions and covering the surrounding areas. These are fixed term positions for a period of 6 months.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals rescued by the Scottish SPCA each year.

The successful applicants will have practical experience of working with animals, a keen interest in animal welfare and excellent customer care skills. In addition, a good geographical knowledge of the area or the ability to attain this quickly is essential. Candidates must also have a full UK manual driving licence. It would be beneficial if candidates live within the area and are able to start as soon as possible.

These positions will be working alternate weekends, 15 hours per fortnight within a group rota between the hours of 7.30am and 11pm. There will be a requirement to cover for the other Weekend Animal Rescue Officer and to occasionally work additional hours to cover for sickness and holidays. Please note that initial training during the week will be required.

Please note that this position is subject to a Standard Disclosure Scotland check.
