We’re the Scottish SPCA. Scotland’s all animal emergency service. Rescue is the start of a journey through rehabilitation to release or rehoming. It means helping struggling owners. It means preventing emergency rescues through education. And it’s always relentless. Because the rescues never stop.
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Scottish SPCA for a Rehoming and Fostering coordinator in the North region.
Reporting to the Rehoming & Fostering Lead, the Rehoming and Fostering coordinator will implement and support rehoming and fostering across the North of Scotland. To recruit, induct and retain animal foster care volunteers in line with the Scottish SPCA foster scheme criteria. To ensure animal care is to the Scottish SPCA standards and the needs of both volunteer and foster animals are met. Working with ARRC and Veterinary Department colleagues to find permanent homes for fostered animals.
In addition to the above the role holder will enhance the adoption process by assessing customer requirements and suitability for rehoming. They will work closely with ARRC colleagues to effectively manage the rehoming journey by matching adopters with suitable animals appropriate to their circumstances. Working alongside the Rehoming and Fostering Lead, the role holder will be involved in developing and shaping the future of the Scottish SPCA’s rehoming strategy and will provide a first class customer experience to potential adopters. A high standard of animal welfare and a reduction in the length of time animals spend in our care will also be a key area of focus for the role.
Interested candidates must have a practical experience working with animals, previous experience working in a customer focused environment and working with general public.
