An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Scottish SPCA for a Database Administrator. 

 

The Database Administrator will be responsible for overseeing our SQL databases and managing the quality and integrity of the data within them, to the performance of the data queries on the database and modernisation of the data tier. You will also play a key role in the evolving data strategy, working with the Information Lead and liaising with 3rd party vendors in creating a database structure to support innovation initiatives throughout the Society. This is a hands-on role in terms of day-to-day management and maintenance of the databases, and also requires forward planning and design of new elements in the data tier.

 

Interested candidates must have a good working knowledge of SQL and MS SQL Server, experience configuring and managing MySQL and MySQL database administration experience, applying security at different levels and set schema permissions and in troubleshooting issues and determining root causes. An understanding of data architecture, replication, and administration is also required. 

 

This is a permanent position, working full time hours of 35 per week. Hybrid working between home and Head Office in Dunfermline is possible.
