The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity is seeking to appoint an experienced HR Assistant to provide a proactive recruitment, administrative and people process support service to the People & Culture Team, frontline managers and Society employees.  

Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, the successful candidate will support the wider People & Culture Team, assuming responsibility for the provision of recruitment services, data management and workforce planning support to ensure our frontline services are resourced effectively.  The role will co-own the management, development and deployment of our HRMIS; with a shared responsibility for developing our internal processes to take advantage of automation and workflow tools to drive efficiency and customer experience across the organisation.  The HR Assistant will be required to provide administrative support to our People & Culture Advisers in managing employee relations cases.  Applicants will have a track record in providing professional HR advice and support to managers and employees and a sound knowledge of good employee relations, employment legislation and its’ practical application to complex case management. 

The successful candidate must be customer focussed and friendly in their approach and demonstrate an effective coaching style.  In addition, candidates will have strong technical knowledge, and excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

The position is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday and applicants must be able to commute to Dunfermline. A full UK manual driving licence is desirable as travel to various centres may be required from time to time.
