The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, is seeking to recruit 2 Veterinary Surgeons to join our team providing care for disadvantaged furred, feathered and scaled animals looking for new homes. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals rescued by the Scottish SPCA each year.

 

The roles will be based in our purpose-built facilities in Glasgow with a requirement to travel between Glasgow, Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Ayr centres.  This positions would suit someone who enjoys surgery. 

 

The positions available are:

  • Weekend Veterinary Surgeon - Permanent - 15 hours per week.  On call duties are shared across the Vet team. £15,818 per annum
  • Veterinary Surgeon - Temporary - 6 months maternity cover - 30 hours per week.  This may include weekend work.  On call duties are shared across the Vet team.  £31,636 per annum

We have a good range of equipment including ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, modern dental equipment and in-house blood testing. We are sevoflurane throughout.
