We at the Scottish SPCA are looking for a new Veterinary Surgeon to join our team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons and 11 Nurses caring for disadvantaged furred, feathered and scaled animals looking for new homes specifically on Saturdays and Sundays. This position is based at our Glasgow, Centre but may involve visiting our Dunbartonshire and Lanarkshire Centres if required.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Scotland’s animal welfare charity and make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals rescued by the Scottish SPCA each year.
This position would suit someone who enjoys being a general practice Vet but relishes the chance to spend time working in a Shelter setting and may be looking for different hours. Hours of work are 15 hours per week, working between 8am and 5pm.
We have a good range of equipment including ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, modern dental equipment and in-house blood testing. We are sevoflurane throughout.
The full time annual salary is £42,000 pro rata.
Start date will be approximately July/August 2022.
Please note that this position will require you to undertake a Standard Disclosure Scotland check.
