The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, is seeking to recruit an Education Officer/Animal Rescue Officer covering Inverness and the surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals rescued by the Scottish SPCA each year.

The successful applicant will have practical experience of working with animals, a keen interest in animal welfare and excellent customer care skills. You will also need a full UK manual driving licence.

The role will require you to conduct educational duties, and will involve visiting schools, and other community bodies, on a daily basis throughout the school year. Thus part of this job is termed as a “childcare” position, which will require you to join the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.

Duties will also include working as an Animal Rescue Officer when required to do so.

Hours are 8.30am to 5pm when carrying out education duties, predominately Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 11pm when carrying out Animal Rescue Officer duties. Hours are an average of 37.5 hours per week, 10 days out of 14, on a rota/shift basis in line with current Inspectorate group working practices in their area, to include weekends.
