The Scottish SPCA are looking for an energetic, self-motivated ‘people person’ to help us deliver our expanding volunteering programme. Over the past couple of years, we have developed and delivered an exciting and inclusive programme of volunteering opportunities across Scotland - can you can help our Volunteering Development Manager to take things to the next level?!

This position is full-time (35hrs per week), working 1 weekend in 4 on a rota basis. You will be based at our unique National Wildlife  Rescue Centre, which nestles in the beautiful surroundings of the Alloa foothills. You will work closely with the Operation Manager to ensure every volunteer has the best possible experience during their time with us. You will also work closely with our Volunteering Development Manager as we evolve and improve our services and working methods, ensuring all the Centre staff and volunteers are supported through future changes.

The National Wildlife Centre is the only facility in Scotland solely devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation, rewilding and release of Scotland wildlife in need, and you can be part of it!

You will work with the Centre Team to assist them with recruitment, interview and induction of new volunteers, as well as helping our existing volunteers to develop in their roles. You will need to be a passionate advocate of inclusive volunteering, because it’s your job to ensure that every volunteer feels valued and supported! You will be well-organised and a skilled communicator, but most of all you really want to make a difference and enjoy seeing people grow and thrive in their roles.

And, of course, as we are an animal welfare charity– while you won’t directly be working with the animals – you will spend time as part of your induction experiencing the amazing work that the Centre and wider staff and volunteer teams do every day! (Got your wellies on standby?!)
