The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, is seeking to recruit a Veterinary Care Assistant for employment at its Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire & West Scotland animal rescue and rehoming centres.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals rescued by the Scottish SPCA each year.

The position will involve working in the theatre and wards, assisting vets with their duties including the admission and discharge of outpatients, maintenance and sterilisation of equipment and cleaning animal accommodation. Previous experience working with animals, excellent customer care and communication skills and a keen interest in animal welfare are essential. Candidates must also have a full UK manual driving licence.

Hours are 37.5 hours per week, working 10 days out of 14 on a rota basis to include evenings and weekends.
